On Saturday, March 23, 2002, several of the guys came over for an afternoon
work session. We finished assembling all of the peninsula supports for the three
new peninsulas on this railroad. We also finished all of the identical brackets
for the sections of the railroad along the walls of the room. Rich, Jan, and
Tommy worked primarily on building peninsula supports, while Marcus and Larry
worked on wall brackets. Chuck and I did miscellaneous tasks such as cutting
wood, marking measurements on the wood, and sanding. We made a lot of progress
at this session, and we set a record for attendance at a work session with 6
members of the crew present! I appreciate all the help from each of the crew!
On Thursday, March 28, 2002, Rich and Brian came over to help me install some
of the benchwork assembled at the previous work session. We attached eight wall
brackets, and we installed seven peninsula supports for the South Salem
peninsula. As a result of the great progress we made at this session, the room
is starting to look like it has a layout!
On Monday, April 1, 2002, Cherie and I installed four fascia boards on the
South Salem peninsula, finishing what Rich, Brian, and I had started the
previous Thursday. We only have to install four more supports and this peninsula
will be complete.
